PCI-DSSL LEVEL 1 – is a standard with the highest level of security
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a standard created by the 5 major credit card companies (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, Discover and American Express) to ensure the protection of credit card data in any environment in which it is stored, transmitted or processed. The standard includes various requirements for the implementation of information security controls in order to implement protection in organizations that handle credit card information through various means such as cash registers, electronic wallets, websites, automatic vending machines and ATMs.
The standard is defined by the PCI (Payment Card Industry Security Standard Council), which was established to increase control over credit data and reduce the risk of credit card fraud caused by uncontrolled disclosure of data. Compliance with the standard is verified annually by an independent evaluator. (QSA) for organizations that carry out a large number of billing operations, and by a self-questionnaire for organizations that have a smaller activity. In Israel and Europe, the standard is expected to charge all businesses according to the size of the business and the method of billing.
